An urgent meeting was held at Divisional Secretariat, Irakkamam to clarify the procedures to be followed by the essential food suppliers during the Covid-19 interim travel ban is lifted and the meeting was presided by the Divisional Secretary, Irakkamam. 

The travel ban that has been implemented in the country for the past few weeks due to the fastest spreading of Covid-19 virus in the country will be lifted for a limited interval on 21st of June 2021, Monday from 04.00am to 10.00pm on 23rd of June, 2021, Wednesday.

An enlightening meeting for the Essential Food Suppliers held on 20th of June, 2021, Sunday at 09.30 am at Divisional Secretariat, Irakkamam in Ampara District and the suppliers was instructed to implement the all measures to make available essential food and to get easily without any restriction and stressed to follow the health care instruction to prevent spreading of Covid – 19 virus.

In further, the   food suppliers were advised to ensure the distribution of essential commodities to the people for a reasonable prices during this Covid – 19 pandemic.

In this meeting, the commander of the Army, Major Mr. Veerasingha from Neetha Camp, the Officer of In-Charghe, Damana Police Station Mr. Herath, the Officer of In-Charge, Irakkamam Sub Police Station Mr. M.Y. Joufar (IP), the Administrative officer of Divisional Secretariat, Irakkamam Mr. J.M. Jameel, the Administrative Grama Niladhari, Mr. Yasarathna Bandara, the Public Health Inspector S. T. K. Rahman from MOH Office, Irakkamam and Grama Niladharies ere participated.
